ALLTEL STADIUM, JACKSONVILLE, FL
Week 6, 2000 NFL Season | Alltel Stadium – Jacksonville, FL | Attendance: 67,412 | Weather: 78°F, humid

The Jacksonville Jaguars (4–2) delivered a near-perfect performance at home, shredding the Baltimore Ravens (2–4) 41–14. Missing defensive leader Ray Lewis (partial ACL tear), Baltimore’s defense fell apart early, and Jacksonville capitalized with three consecutive touchdown drives. The Ravens, coming off a narrow 27–24 loss to Cleveland, showed flashes but couldn’t overcome turnovers and poor tackling.

Game Flow

1st Quarter: The Jaguars opened with a 13-play, 77-yard drive capped by Jimmy Smith’s 24-yard touchdown catch from Mark Brunell. On their next possession, Fred Taylor powered through for a 7-yard TD run. Jacksonville led 14–0 after two long, clock-chewing drives.

2nd Quarter: Brunell hit Kyle Brady for a 12-yard score to extend the lead to 21–0. The Ravens finally answered just before halftime as Jamal Lewis punched in a 3-yard TD, trimming the deficit to 21–7 at the break.

3rd Quarter: Baltimore’s hopes evaporated when Aaron Beasley intercepted Tony Banks at the Ravens 40. Two plays later, Fred Taylor broke a 32-yard touchdown run, and Mike Hollis added a 41-yard field goal to make it 31–7.

4th Quarter: Brunell connected again with Jimmy Smith for a 58-yard touchdown on a deep post. Shannon Sharpe added a late TD for Baltimore, but Hollis’ second field goal sealed a dominant 41–14 Jaguars win.

  1. Oh, COME ON! Another conveniently-timed Ray Lewis injury, just when the Ravens are about to mount a comeback in the season? Really? Let’s not forget how often the NFL’s “storyline” kicks in right when certain teams need it most. Notice how in this game, the Jaguars utterly dismantle the Ravens, and yet Ray Lewis is out. Almost like they needed a boost in the storyline for the Jaguars—coincidence? I THINK NOT. Look at the penalties too, 8 for Baltimore versus 5 for Jacksonville, seems small, but these little things add up, SHEEPLE. This game was basically decided with Aaron Beasley’s interception on Tony Banks—funny how banks are bailed out right? 😉 Check the officiating crew on this one. SAME GUYS with questionable calls in Week 2. CONNECT THE DOTS! And don’t EVEN get me started on that last field goal, just padding the score for all those fantasy sites! OPEN YOUR EYES!

  2. Wow, what a game! Jaguars totally crushed it against the Ravens. That Brunell guy was on fire, throwing TDs like it’s easy! Fred Taylor just unbelievable with those runs, racking up yards like there’s no tomorrow. Jaguars’ offense was unstoppable. Really tough break for the Ravens though, missing Ray Lewis really showed on the field. But hey, let’s talk about my Jets – they’re going to turn things around, just wait and see! 💪✈️
